| Silverlands Action
Campaign |
The
Home office proposed a use of a local Nurses home
for a use which
the community objected very strongly to. This website
was provided to the action team to help communicate
to anyone concerned. At the peak of the campaign
we had 2008 visitors to the site. The
campaign was successful with an agreement to not
use the building for the proposed use. The
website remains as a reminder of the successful
campaign. |

| Warwick Leadership
Foundation |
The WLF is a charitable
trust created by, and having the ongoing personal
involvement of The Lord Taylor of Warwick. WLF's
mission is to gather resources together for the provision
of: ethical and inspirational leadership, support
and advice to develop leadership skills in disadvantaged
communities. We have provided the data driven website,
hosting and ongoing support to develop the site as
we fully recognise the importance of identifying
potential leaders early on. |

| University of the
Third Age (U3A) |
U3A is not really
a University but a focused organisation that encourages
life long learning for retired people. After talking
with some leaders Peter Gaskin got involved and spent
4 terms, 2 hours per week, teaching retired people
about the Internet. This was most rewarding and revealing
in understanding the usefulness of the Internet to
the silver surfers. The oldest student was 80, and
despite the challenges of using a login and password
persevered and shocked her son in Japan by starting
to email him on a weekly basis.
